Gal 2:20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ lives in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
I hesitate to expand upon the simple statement of faith above. Anytime a view is expressed or expounded it seems to create room for misinterpretation. This can occur either by reading into things too far, or by not reading deeply enough into them. Even the mention of the name of Jesus instantly initiates a myriad of preconceptions in a western mind. This being said, I'll venture to express what He means to me.
My goal and purpose in life is to live in moment by moment fellowship with God the Father, through Jesus Christ, by the Holy Spirit and to participate in this fellowship with others who walk with the Father, through Jesus, by the Spirit. Some moments this is displayed well, others it is not. By God's grace and mercy the good moments are increasing in number and the inferior moments are decreasing (though less rapidly than I would like). Through this fellowship God builds in me the truths He says about me. Through this fellowship God removes the falsehoods I say about me. I do not feel this makes me any better or worse than anyone else, it simply means I am submitted to the purpose for which I was created.
I am not a religious person. I don't believe we were created to find the right set of beliefs and practice them. I find that pursuit hollow and meaningless. I also feel that life outside of relationship with Christ is hollow and meaningless. What is real to me is that we were created to participate in the dance of the Trinity (the love relationship of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit), to live in a love relationship with the Trinity and to share this love with others. In these relationships complete fulfillment can be found, and they are worth pursuing with all that I am. On my best days I follow that pursuit.
I welcome interaction with anyone regarding anything I've stated here, whether you agree with me or not. I am always open to dialog.
