I currently manage the Instructional Materials Laboratory at the University of Wisconsin - Platteville. It is a small library located across the hall from the School of Education in Doudna Hall. Materials in this library support students who are preparing to become teachers by providing resources to use in a classroom. In this library we have children's books, books with lesson plan ideas, videos, CDs, DVDs, puppets, etc. I feel very fortunate to be able to purchase all these fun things. I am also the librarian for the departments of education, couseling, health and physical fitness, psychology and for the women studies program. I also serve on committees for Karrmann Library and spend some hours on the reference desk there. Committees for the campus I currently serve on are Faculty Senate, Graduate Council, and the By-laws committee. Lastly, I sometimes serve as an adjunct for the School of Education. I have taught sections of "Computer Applications in Education", "Ethnicity and Gender Equity in Education" and "Freshman Seminar". I also teach a course for the MSE in Wuhan, China, entitled, "Oral Language and Emergent Literacy"

I have been a librarian for more than thirty years in a variety of positions. Most of these were in New Jersey or Pennsylvania, but recently I decided to return to Wisconsin, the land of my childhood. I joined the University of Wisconsin-Platteville in November of 2001. Previously to this I was a high school librarian at Cherry Hill High School East. I was however transferred to an elementary school in the district and so sought a different position. I have also taught library science courses for Rowan University and was an adjunct librarian for them as well. Previous positions include positions as a reference librarian, a children's librarian, and briefly an elementary school librarian.
